from what i read today, canada will be drafting/re-drafting citizenship to those who left long ago. so if your parents or grandparents are canadian and your not, soo you may be.

Probably cleaning up a screw up from a change several legislations ago. There a whole slew of kids born in Canadian overseas military bases during the 70's or 80's, not sure which, who are not considered citizens. It wasn't discovered until people started getting passports for the new US law. It was never meant to impact those people so it's got to get cleaned up.

One of my ex was born in Germany and when her parents moved back to Canada she was considered a legal immigrant.

But was she a citizen? Before and after this particular mistake, she would be a citizen but not during this particular period. Like I said, weird, but they didn't realize until they needed passports.
