Hello all, for those of you that have met me you know im not very tall.

5'6" with boots, I have an 03 XB9S (with low seat) and thinking about the crossroads 0 degree bars versus my stock bars.

When i'm riding down the highway I try to position myself like "I think" the bars would make me sit and the wind noise increases by about a 10 fold, has anyone had an issue with this? I think it puts my big head right in the path of all the air coming off the flyscreen.

I might be leaning too far forward, but really hard to tell.

so anyone my height have these installed and had any issues or any other data that could help me out. I searched for hours, but nothing on the being short and air noise etc...

THANKS!
-Robert

P.S. any have a good comparison for stock and 0 degree?

5-7 myself, and damn grumpy about being short : | The clubmans will put you very far forward, probably the best way to tell if that will work for you is to go get a demo on the 1125CR that has clubmans on it. For me, its just uncomfortable, if I were 21 again, I wouldnt care. Damn youth is wasted on the young.

well I did about 150 miles on my buddies CR last weekend (he was sick and I was helping him break it in!)

I was fine with the bars (but would prefer a less aggressive bar for my bike), but his flyscreen deflects air different then my XB does.

My major concern is getting my head right in the air path, which would be very annoying!!!

Isn't your head in the air path with the stock bars? I don't care how short you are, your head is going to be in the path of the wind.

I have the crossroads bars, but i'm 5'11". I don't feel like i'm leaning very far forward. I would like to try some different bars in the future. I have the stock city x bars, but I don't like the look of them.

Naturally being an open fairing bike I get wind all over, but when I lean forward a good bit its about 10 times worse.

I go from little helmet noise to LOTS of helmet wind noise.

It probably not the bike, but your helmet allowing more air in around your neck. As your chin moves farther away from your chest, more air is allowed underneath your helmet and can cause a lot more noise.

I wear ear plugs. Wind noise can damage your hearing over time, or so i've read. All I hear is the exhaust, which i love. The ear plugs get ride of all the ticking the engine makes. I don't know about your buell, but mine sounds like I have a playing card in my spokes when in 3rd gear at about 3k rpms.

I just demo'ed an 1125CR this weekend, and (IMHO) the clubman bars are nothing like the crossroads 0-degreess on my XBS. They may be more comparable to the -7 degrees, I'm not sure.

Here are my thoughts on the crossroads 0-degrees - The bars are definitely farther forward and lower. My stock S bars felt like they were in my lap when I was riding through Deal's Gap this spring, which is why I wanted to try something different. The crossroads 0-deg feel similar to the firebolt's stock bars, except not quite as extreme. They're just a tad higher and feel significantly wider than the "R" bars. The biggest thing I noticed and had to get used to when I switched over was how wide they are. I did not notice any real difference in wind noise or resistance at the helmet level. If anything, there is a bit less wind hitting my chest at higher speeds, as I now lean further forward and my head is a bit lower.

I have had the crossroads on since June, and just did an 1800mi superslab weekend with them. I love these bars and would not switch back.

All that said, I'm also 5'11". I think your height combined with that low seat would put you even closer to the tank and even further OUT of the wind blast. I'd recommend you give them a shot before you buy though. Is there anyone near you with a set on their bike?
