No, I haven't "stubbed" it while dragging it... Haven't even tried to drag it.

Anyway, I've put a little over 100 miles on my XB and have noticed that my knee hurts a good deal. Anyone else have this trouble?? I grew up on dirt bikes and am assuming that I am just transferring a bad habit from there. Anyone know of anything that may cause this and a possible fix?

I suppose I could just take a bunch of pain killers before going riding... Just Kidding
<IMG SRC=">.

Oh, and it's only the left knee.

Yep, I know the hurting

I don’t wanna play doctor,
But the bolt is my first bend over sports bike ( my old bikes were a toilet seat position )
And I went to a fisio ( chiropractor ?? I don’t know the proper us word for it )
It seems that one off my knee caps had a problem ( I have fallen big time on my right knee ), there were some ruff pieces on the inside
And when ever I bend my knee in the xb position and hold it there for a while, the ruff pieces where penetrating though the kneecap lubricant,
and I have stopped many time’s by the side off the road with tears in my eye from the pain.
The pain has reduced after a lot off knee exercises, had my seat made 1” thicker and put some lower rearset’s on.
And when ever I ride long distances I try to change my leg position a lot,
Even let my feet bungle in the wind behind the rests, ( lying on the bike superman style )
if you go over 90 m/h the drag will keep your legs up ( beware I don’t recommend doing this , because it can be dangerous, because you can loose control off the bike )
and I try to keep my knees as warm a they can get,

gr. And happy riding
martin

m1, what you wnat to do is put some feet forward "hiway pegs" like the harley guys use. then put on some mini ape handlebars, and fab up a sissy bar to put a pad on, so you can lean back, stretch your legs and Cruise, baby. more seriosly, if knee is giving you trouble, try some of that MSM crap. helps me out some, good luck. dean

Fullpower - Uhhh, I'm sure you meant that in jest... That would add weight. I'll deal with the pain to keep from adding weight :). My father taught me when I was very young that the best way to increase HP is to decrease weight :).

Bud - I was thinking of the lower rearsets and I'll certainly be getting a corbin seat at some point.

Thanks for both replies.

Bud,
That sounds an awful lot like my problem, and I have the same issues with my knees with tight rearsets. Coupla long rides on the Blast with the Xroads setup had me stiff and sore. Stretching helps - the more flexible I am the less they hurt. Also, loosefitting pants don't seem to press on the kneecap and give me less discomfort.

So I ware my chopper leathers most of the time

I'm over 50, can't blame the pain on the 9s. Had Corbin add an inch in my seat like Bud mentioned, not only helped my knees but reduced the hot seat syndrome buy 75%! On straight aways I throw one leg at a time forward for a few seconds and keeps me going painlessly for many 250+ mile rides.
