Recently purchased xb9s from a guy that let it sit for 2 years. Fuel was bright yellow.

The fuel system is in bad shape. I drained the fuel and cleaned the tank up. Had to replace the fuel pump (thanks ebay and folks wrecking ulys) and now am trying to clean the injectors out.

I filled the tank with b12 cleaning stuff and have the injectors out of the throttle body. I'm trying to cycle the pump and injectors via ecm spy, but nothing is coming out of them. They must be completely clogged. I'd like to resuscitate them rather than buying new ones.

I think I'm going to soak the injectors and them try to cycle them again with straigh fuel system cleaner.

Do any of you have any advice on better methods?

The amount you spend on new ones now will surely be cheaper than the problems down the road.

XL, There's a first class injector cleaning/testing & rebuilding company, Dr. Injector) in the Seattle area. They have 6 shops around Puget Sound 1 in Oregon and 1 in California.

They will ultra sonic clean, flow bench test and rebuild if necessary. You can mail or UPS them your sensors. Here's the web site: docinjector.com/location1.htm

too bad we don't have an alternative that we could pick up from the autoparts store. The connectors say "ford" on them, but I can't seem to be able to cross reference them.

I'll bet they may be the same as a Ford Focus.

Buy new ones, or see if someone in your area has an ASNU machine. It is not a good idea to just install an injector that "looks" the same. If the flow rate is different you will create driveability problems.

Nobody said anything about trying one that looked the same. If they are made for Ford. I bet theres a way to figure which car uses them.

I would just buy a new set personally and be done with it.

Buell fuel injectors are made by Ford. They will have a number on them that looks similar to this E7SZ-9F593-A. Get the number off them that looks like that. Then call your local Ford dealer with that number to get price and availability. You can probably get them cheaper through the Ford dealer than the Buell dealer. Once you have the Ford part number off the injectors you could also try Ebay.

well alright. I soaked them in some b12 cleaner for a few hours.

pulled them out of the bottle I soaked them in and the O rings have swollen and are now useless.

I had a couple other o rings I could put on one end and test them with ecmspy and now both of them work!

I just need some o-rings to put it all back together.

I hope this is the last hurdle on this track bike to be.

Yeah - some of the older injector and fuel pump orings swell up when they actually see fuel. They seal really well but are NOT reusable.

Check the parts list carefully when ordering - the drawings aren't 100 percent clear. The o-rings aren't shown on the drawings. I can get you the part numbers later if you don't see them in the parts book when you look (I have a replacement set going into my bike during the rebuild sitting in a baggie)

I just had some 25 year old Kaw GPz injectors cleaned by www.witchhunter.com up in Washington. (They have a bunch of good info on their process on the web site and after cleanin, you get a before/after report with measured flow number.) Totally amazing difference on the bike and good customer service. Then we had them do a set for a Dodge Avenger that was missing like crazy and throwing codes. Had them cleaned and it's like new. I'm a huge fan of off-car injector cleaning. Was like $17 per injector.
