I have my bike, an XB12R, in my local dealers shop for this problem. It's had this problem since I got it. So far they flashed the ECM with a new map from Buell, new spark plugs. It still has the flat spot. It has a little more power past that point, but otherwise hasn't changed the bad flat spot. Has anyone else had any luck with their dealer coming up with a solution to this problem? Thanks, Bob (Message edited by xbrfirebolt on May 09, 2008) |

Well actually they said flashed with a map from Harley-Davidson, I assumed they meant Buell. |

I believe programs such as ECMspy allow you to flash any of the Buell ECMs. I could be wrong though.... |

Is the ECM the same as the 1125, it is DDFI 3, from what I've read on this site. |

I was told it was an updated map? They said they're working with Buell Tech, and have done what they have sugguested. It also has a different exhaust sound. They thought the interactive valve was bad in the muffler, so replaced the muffler with a new one, no difference in sound or flat spot. At least they are trying, and working with Buell to find a soultion. (Message edited by xbrfirebolt on May 09, 2008) |
