depending on the model, you could still lower the bike another step by putting the Scg shock on the rear and lowering the front fork springs, should get you another 3/4-1 inch closer to ground

I believe there's a ScG shock in the For Sale Parts and Accessories area.

The Low or ScG isn't just the seat and rear shock. The front forks are different than a standard XBS. If you want to do the conversion fully, you need to do all three. But you can lower your riding postion by about 1" by purchasing a Low or Scg seat. They fit all XBS's, except the SS.

I haven't done it, but I've seen alot of parts in the Classifieds from guys who tried and gave up or didn't want to try it after they saw what was involved. Personally, I'd see if I could get away with the seat first. How short is she?

I spent $50 on a lowered seat (off a XB9SL)
and it is a bit lower but its still the same width. so my stumpy butt goes down further, but that causes my legs to have to go out further, therefor defeating the desired affect. but hey your girlfriend might be more flexible :-)

she is only 5'2"
29" inseam
so you think the shorter seat didnt work to get your legs on the ground?
if it is to much work, maybe i will just have to build a mutant right away. i had planed on leting her ride it for a year before putting it under the knife.
thanks shawn

If you can find someone interested in swapping the parts straight across it is very easy to change from the standard
to the SCG suspension.

Since your bike is an 07 you will need forks, shock, kickstand, and lower triple clamp.

You will need to suspend the bike from exposed rafters or similar arrangement since the bike will not be stable on just
the under-pipe lift point. With parts in hand the swap is easily do-able in less than an hour.

The suspension swap will lower the bike just over an inch. I did the swap on my 03 firebolt last winter.

as an 03 you won't need to change the lower triple clamp, which makes the swap easier. I was going by your profile.
