Despite having the money ready I sadly am unable to buy my new Buell.

The XB12S was discontinued here in Australia last year and I was hopeful this was a temporary thing however the '08 model range shows again no 12S model downunder only the Ss which doesn't interest me with its more relaxed steering.

This is especially disappointing given the refreshed 1200 motor sounds a good thing.

I'm happy for everyone that wanted the high powered sportsbike from Buell, that model is coming here, but why neglect the many fans of the original iconic streetfighter?

I guess it didn't sell very well and wasn't worth the cost to ship it

Why are you allowing yourself to hold back on an incredible bike?

The reason why the 12S is discontinued and the 12Ss taking its place is because the 12Ss is THAT much better.

You are NOT going to gain much from the shorter wheelbase of the S over the longer wheelbase of the Ss. Both are short enough!

You will however gain a whole slew of positive things with the Ss: more fuel capacity for longer range, longer seat for more comfort, more room for rear luggage.

My friend has an Ss and loves it! Even on very tight twisties, the longer wheelbase doesn't make that much of a difference--he rails in tight turns, making me work hard on my shorter wheelbase XB12R!

Get the 12Ss and start enjoying!
