Code 11 is TPS problem and code 53 is bad ECM. Has anyone experienced these codes and is my ECM fried? Can I put my stock ecm back in until i get new race ecm? Please chime in...

Thanks in advance

I am not sure about anyone else, but I took my race ECM's out of my bikes and put the stock ones back in, way more torque, smoother, a bit richer actually, but smoother throttle response, the O2 sensors will adjust to a point, I have a Buell race pipe, K&N with a cut snorkel on one,and the race kit from 1999 on the X1, the Dyno does not show it to be too lean or too rich, I would not want my race ECM back in either bike. I don't know if that is good "technical" info, but it is my experience.

I have an '05 stock XB ECM that threw a code 53. I cleared the DTC with the VDSTS and had no further occurrence, of any code... so far.

Do make sure the battery is fully charged, in good condition, and the cable terminations are secure.

my battery is original with 19000 miles on it. It does sound weak when i go to start the bike...Also when bike is hot and I shut off, the fan does not come on unless i turn key back on and hit the run switch up and down. Also when i turn key on the oil light doesnt come on right away some tmes.

A weak battery will do that?

Thanks in advance

A bad battery, low battery voltage can have unpredictable effects on ECM operation, so yes.

The battery is always THE place to start with any electrical problem. Especially the connections (at both ends of the cables.)
