Anyone have one? Would you recommend it?

Probably the wrong place for this post, but I can't find my butt with both hands with the search engine.

Thanks.

Looks very similar in design to the Joe Rocket reactor-s.

I Don't have any experience with power trip, but the J-R jacket is a decent piece
of hot weather riding gear for those on a tight budget.

The only thing that bothers me is the loops for attaching the jacket to your belt
instead of a standard zipper for attaching to a proper pair of riding pants.

Evidently Power Trip and JR use many of the same components (Mesh, zippers, cut). I have been looking at the Phoenix 4.0 and this one. They both even have the same iPod pocket set up. I like this jacket because it has the leather sleeves and shoulders.

The belt loop thing is a little strange. I guess since they don't sell matching pants and want to increase bike versatility, they have done the loop thing.

Is CE rated the same across the board (like DOT or Snell is to helmets)?

CE is standard for impact absorption in the armor.
It is similar to dot for helmets in that many designs can meet the standard.

If your ride hard I would look for a jacket that has at least the 10inch zipper that attaches
to pants. The manufacturers have pretty much standardized this so that my J-R Reactor S
attaches to my firstgear speedfreak pants with no issues. IMO jeans of any type just
don't cut it f you go out and ride the way most of us claim to : ) But that's just me.

For a moment there I thought someone had actually made an intercooled jacket...

For a moment there I thought someone had actually made an intercooled jacket...

I've seen one, but the pipes and radiator made it a little unwieldy!

I ride with Aerostitch Darien pants, so there is no zipper. I like the armor in my Aerostitch stuff. I feel like I'm wearing bomb squad gear.

I just wasn't sure if all CE armor is the same. It just didn't feel like what is in my Aerostitch, and I don't think it's CE rated.

Isn't Alpine stars making intercooled racing suits for the pros with battery powered
fans to force air through them when they are in the pits?

Nicky was wearing one last year and this year all the top pros wearing their gear have them.

Yeah, they actually insert dry ice in there and the blower blows over it for air conditioning.

There were days when it was 105 degrees and I was stuck at a light when I could have used that. Must... not... die....

But I still wore my mesh jacket and full faced helmet. Real men wear it... for the ones they love.

I have an NJK Leathers Mesh Breeze jacket. From what I've seen, the armor in the NJK jacket is a bit better that most mesh jackets. At temps below 75 degrees, I get chilled when wearing this jacket.

Check out www.njkleathers.com for pricing. I know they had some killer sales going on....

I just got this Power Trip jacket and love it, and they make it in leather too.

Once again the snap loops for attatching it to a belt.
That just bothers me, but at least you'll be wearing a
"proper" motorcycle jacket not a fashion statement!

Remember ATGATT

riding risk is ((CxD)/2)/d
The average of Complacency and Distraction divided by distance.
The shorter the trip and the more familiar the road the more dangerous
the ride is. The statistics back up my formula.
