Does anyone know if the force exhaust-no header just the muffler- is a good muffler for a xb12? I saw one for sale and it wasn't 1 of the exhausts tested in the asb dyno test. Any feedback would be good. Also what price would you guys pay for a above average used one if you were going to buy it? If you think it's worth buying.

Effing LOUD!!!!

VERY good sound, but LOUD LOUD LOUD. a LOT louder than any of the other common pipes. There are a couple that are comparable in volume but they're hard to find. I personally LOVE the sound of a Force pipe but I hated the low end performance.

I will agree the force is loud, but I love it. Many will say it is too loud, but everyone has different opinions. There is a dead spot down low, but with correct tuning it does help. I will see what the baffle does when I get some more fine tuning with the Direct Link. At 3k and above it is a blast.

Brian Nallin, now at Revolution Performance, set some world records and won two straight ADBA drag racing championships using a Force exhaust. I wouldn't characterize that kind of performance as a "POS". The new models for the XB's however have experienced some problems, but I thought that they had redesigned them to address that. I've not seen anything about a Force exhaust on an XB12 though. Not sure about just using the muffler either.

BTW, MotoGP bikes use megaphone mufflers. It is for a reason. : )

The pipe works alright on a nine. I hear it works BEAUTIFULLY on a heavily modded XB9. If you want to use the "muffler" on a twelve you would do well to NOT use the Force header. The diameter is too small.

On a twelve you'll need to change the length of the megaphone to get it "right". If you don't want to do that you can certainly just tune it the way it is, but you'd get more if you were to tune the length properly. The Force header for the tube frames should be the right diameter, but I have no idea if that header will work with the XB... If it does... That may be a great pipe for the upper end. Brian Nallin certainly knows what he's doing.

The real problem with the Force header/muffler isn't the power really. It's the fact that Force Motor Products (Why produced the pipe) chose probably the worst type of metal to use in it's fabrication. I never had trouble with the header breaking, but the muffler broke four times before I got enough re-inforcements welded onto the front spoiler mounts to make them work. After all of that I put on a Drummer and realized that it just makes better power all around (except about 400RPM through the middle I guess). Both were dyno tuned to a flat A/F curve on the same day, same dyno, same bike using a power commander.

I always ran the Force pipe for the sound and the Drummer when I got sick of the lack of power down low on the Force pipe...

Oh... It's definitely not a POS "design"... but the pipe as made by force motor products for mass consumption by the public is most certainly crap.

I run a Force Muffler on my bike, only with a K&N filter, Desnorkeled AIr box. Sound is LOUD but I love it. I find it runs alot better then a full Force system.
