First question, does any one know if the lights can be rotated in the housing, so as to mount the lights VERTICALLY instead of horizontal???

IF SO, what are the dimensions of this light?

Wouldn't that completely ruin the alignment of the light beam? Also wouldn't it look a little strange?

If you wanted a different light, why not get a light off of a honda hornet (599 here).
It looks like a simple round motorcycle headlight, but honda put a lot of r&d into is. It is powered by 2 h11 bulbs. Very unique.

Chase,

Vertical headlights are way cool, very European Streetfigher.

Turning the stock lights would not be the best way of going: just won't work, won't fit, unless you do major major surgery.

Here an example of a real craftsman at work, the famous Hellbender on the Hillbilly-Motors Motors site. They are a sponsor and Buell specialist in Germany.

That bike's cool, but I've always HATED the light they chose. I like vert. lights, but not THAT one. I've always thought two horizontally-oriented lights mounted one above the other would look cool...

Major surgery, yeah, I am in the process of that....

Second, the size would be the main limiting factor..as I dont have any XBs real handy, I figured I would ask...

So, now, the search for a good set of small BRIGHT lights..it is hard to describe what I am working on, or I would try...

BUT, after searching and searching, I am POSITIVE it will be unique....

Thanks guys, I have access to all the tools I will need, lathe, tig welders etc...plus, LOTS of aluminum....

I used to own a 2004 599 from honda and I really didnt care for the light output of the headlamp. Maybe the new ones are more crisp......
