Just integrated saddlebags, a fuller fairing and more fuel capacity than my current 3.7 gallons. That really isn't asking for MUCH at all...  P.S. Please NOT the ULY, I really TRIED to like it, but just CANNOT get over the seat height and the "uglies" of it. | ||

A supermoto. V twin if possible, great weight/power ratio. A factory "heli bar" option for Firebolt owners. A better quality/easier to read dipstick- or better yet a gauge. A fuel gauge. A stealth button that allows me to avoid police attention. Adjustable footpegs- not "R" or "S" but A,B,C,D,E... Please make frame pucks standard on all models. Finally, please offer a Red, White, and Blue color scheme. You are close and have offered all of those colors at different times. | ||

A streched out, 60 degree rake, tube framed, 124ci engine, baker 6 speed tranny, metal flake paint, some chopper shops name on the frame, 360 rear tire, fuel range of bar to bar, suicide shift, 21 inch front wheel, ya that's about it.  By the way I have heard Erik does post and read the BWB and it is not under an anoy name plate. | ||

i think they should put another fan on it  i would like an overdrive, and so what if it is a sportbike, you would not lose any of your roll on, the gears would still be the same, and then you can just have a 6th for mileage. i really dont think the gears need to be any closer together. but i guess if they did that, then they would have to have a stock wheelie bar. | ||

Put good seats on the R, increase tank capacity to 6 gallons, and hang a pair of top-notch hard bags on it. Dump those cheesy H3 lights and put some righteous lighting on board. Add another taillight bulb, the pucks and traction grips and pegs, and hang the mirrors out there where we can actually see what's directly behind us. That'll do for starters. | ||

Communicate to HD dealerships that the source for Buells is Bad Weathers. Maybe put a kiosk in the HD shop that is locked to the Bad Weathers web site. I'm tired of those friggin HD techs messing up my buell. | ||

More HP please. The naked class is a lot more competitive these days. Many similar bikes can hang with the buells as far as torque and still play with the high-revving rockets with higher horsepower. I came really really close to getting an 05 speed triple instead of my Ss. XB's are unique, but so are Triples. The Triumph has about the same torque and about 20 more ponies up top. The one thing that sold me on the Buell was that it just looked completely different than anything else out there. I know our bikes aren't and shouldn't be on par with bikes that were built for the track. But I'd just like to lessen the gap a little. | ||

come on here.. the bike needs more H/P and torque.. the look of the bikes is sexy but when a japer walks by you in 3rd on the back tire come on. im mean like you roast anything of the line but when you hit 3rd and 4th the sewing machines fly by .. dammit youve gotta be able to make a better engine allready .. add some valves or something .. and a 6th for highway cruisin . then the bike would be perfect. | ||

I'm with the better engine. Something on the lines that Ducati has. Also increase the fuel capacity already. Getting 100-120 miles between fill ups blows. Increase capacity by 2 gal at least. The range is one of the main reasons I'm looking at other bikes. | ||

My "out there" wish list: - new engine based on XBRR in several models - mandatory gear/accessories display in every Buell dealership My "real" wish list: An 07 Ulysses in my carport with ~10k miles on it by the time the 08's come out! BTW, regarding new models, go back and find the issue of FUEL that announced Steve Anderson coming on board at Buell. I suspect he's working on more than just the XBRR.... | ||

More power would be fun but if a "japer" walks by in third on the rear wheel I'll ONLY care if he's headed straight off the cliff. Not because I'm interested in seeing anyone hurt, but because I ONLY care if someone "walks" around me in a canyon. If it's a straight line I don't care in the least. | ||

Thank you badweb. =0) A 6th gear would be nice, just for a little less rpm's on the highway, same gear ratio though. Maybe a low mixed with a long. No more mickey mouse mirrors!!! You know, I've ridden the Aprilia Tuono, and for a V-twin, the power doesn't come on until 6 to 7K rpms. For a street bike I still like the pull from 2 to 3K and on up to redline. Now I wish redline was about 9500, intead of 6800. I'll bet the Ducs are the same. (Message edited by CURTYD on August 01, 2006) | ||

OK, I'll let my freak flag fly. I'd like to see Buell create a modern cafe bike, more conventional in appearance than the XB series, but with similar performance qualities. What an updated Sportster should be. Performance with a touch of nostalgia. Also, I'd love to see a lighter bike. My XB9 has plenty of power for me, I just wish it were much lighter. Like sub-400 pounds ready to ride. Bill | ||

another engine platform parallel to existing air-cool (ala ducati) for people who want & need the water-cooled HP. love the bikes, but the big thing sticking out each year is power options. same discussion each year with no resolution. regardless, i'm in market to upgrade from xb9r to the uly or other adventure style bike. i'm wanting to be able to ride longer w/ option of 2 up & occassional dirt. uly seems fit for this. i'd love to see buell do something like the KTM 950 sm (same weight-to-power ratio) though for my second bike. very cool. cool video to watch & after seeing it, you might agree that it'd be awesome to see buell do it with it's own style. buell owners of uly's need to put out a youtube video like this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vmeZ2DZINb4&eurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww%2Ektmtwins%2Eco m%2F950supermoto%2Ehtml | ||

If Buell resurrected a tube frame model, it would have to be as stunning to the eye as was the S1, but rather than hark back to a traditional concept, a new era of modern design is required. Perhaps along the lines of Glynn Kerr's TVR Streetfighter. I'm no longer in favour of the Harley derived V twin power plant. I say that as a long time owner, and fan, but not for a modern era performance bike am I any longer that fan. There's still a great many applications the V twin Buell motor can live for, but I'm looking for something that Buell haven't brought to market thus far. V twin high revving liquid cooled - 150 mph with ease - could satisfy my needs.  Rocket | ||

OK, I mentioned this before, but I went and dug out my January/February FUELL to get the specifics. Page 13, interview with Steve Anderson. Q: What does being a Platform Manager at the Buell Motorcycle Company entail? A: A Platform Director, within the Buell structure, is someone who is in charge of a motorcycle platform from the design engineering side. The job description would probably be something like: Take a product-planning concept and lead a team to turn the concept into a range of production motorcycles. But I can't talk about any specifics about what we might be working on! Now I don't know about the rest of you, but it sounds to me like Mr. Anderson's job covers a lot more than working on XBRR development. Heck, the XBRR had to have been developed long before he was hired. Maybe we'll see his new "platform" in 2008? | ||

A lot of motor can be built within the existing architecture. think of an air cooled 45 degree 2 valve pushrod motor with 3-1/8" stroke, 4-1/16 bore. breathing through a 58 mm throttle body, and run it up to 8000 rpm there you have 135 horsepower, no major engineering challenges, just a little bigger bore, a little better air flow, and maybe you need to use a better grade of steel for the crank pin..... fast,simple, reliable, and still fits in that cute little Italian frame. probably have to build my own. |
