I was asked this exact question at least three times over the last 3 days. Each time, I answered, "52 inch wheelbase--shortest production bike made!" Of course, what they always want to know is the displacement...when I finally admit that it's 984cc, they are always surprised.

So I have to tell 'em, displacement doesn't really matter, at least to me. That 52" wheelbase, though--and eveything else about the chassis--if it helps it "turn like a whippet" (in the words of an RC51 rider I recently met), then it does matter!

It's easy to forget how small our bikes look. I'm 6'2" and my bike looks like it's a
500 or so, based solely on physical size. People are really surprised when i tell them
that mine's a 1250. The H-D guys are shocked when I tell them how much rwhp I have
when they try to compare it to a "little sportster" at 99.6rwhp & 86 ftlbs of torque
it isn't anything like those little sportsters anymore.
