I tried to do a search for this but I came up with nada. I have a couple of spots on my fairing that are starting to peel back. I guess from bugs or rocks. I shaved off the noticeable spots but it seemed like the plastic kept wanting to peel off more and more. I was thinking of taking some fine grit sand paper to it but I wanted to see if anyone had a different solution to this. I can live with it the way it is but I'd like to keep it from peeling anymore than it already has. |

I had an XB9R that had the same problem. Unfortunately, once the plastic starts to peel (like string cheese, aint it?), it's hard to stop. I used an exacto knife to make a small cut across the point of peeling to try and stop the 'running peel' and then used some various grit sandpaper to get rid of the peel damage. Finished up with some automotive rubbing and polishing compound and it looked acceptable. The peeling also stopped. Good luck. |
