I need to remove some bolts that are held in place with blue loctite. What should I use to clean the old loctite off before reassembling. I have tried wire brushing the bolts but that doesn't get all of it off. Will brake cleaner work, or is there some special loctite cleaner?

Carb cleaner in an aerosol can should do the trick. Probally about $2-3 at wally world or autozone.

I was gonna use a scotchbrite pan scrubber but ended up using my fingernails and a paper towel.

The folks at the Buell factory claimed that their bolts came pre-loctited and was good for about three reuses. I guess I don't understand why you want to remove it. In thirty five years I don't recall ever removing any or having any problems because I didn't.
Maybe I'm 'lucky'. : )
