Silver Exhaust What the........ Well what should I do to my Exhaust to paint it?

Experts what should I do......I want just a matte or flat black paint or other hi temp coating.

I was thinking about just sandblasting the silver off and spraying it with VHT flat black exhaust paint

All I used was flat black exhaust paint. It works fine.

Eastwood makes a few good high temp coatings. some are brush on, and some are sprays. they work great on muscle car exhaust manifolds so should work as well on a muffler.

The Drummer's are painted with Duplacolor part #DH 1602 black ceramic. Sand with 320 grit first.

You can buy it at any auto parts store.

Flat black BBQ paint of the Wal Mart variety : ) $.99 per can good for year round riding with touch-ups (I'm not a big fan of cleaning and washing my Buells, so YMMV.)

I second jet hot. Painting exhausts is so 1980's and should be outlawed on Buells.

its all in the prep work just make sure u scuff it good so the paint has something to stick to...320 is a good idea or a scotch brite pad and some surface prep u can find at auto parts stores sometimes or auto paint supply stores adhesion is key.

A good wax and grease remover makes a huge difference in how well paint will stick to used motor parts.
