Hello Badwebs,

I have a 2005 City X that has developed a weird sound. It almost sounds like a wooden marble rolling around the bottom end. I question whether or not it is the primary chain. My bike is coming up on its 5000 mile service. I have the Buell Race kit and I hope they do not void my warranty because of this. I did keep the original exhaust and ecm. I sure hope my bike is ok, but the sound is there. I do know that Buells can be noisy. Thanks for any advice you can give.

Greg

It would be cool if this website had a place to upload WAV files and we could listen to engine noise problems and make recommendations based on our experiences. Some web servers offer a "music online" page that could possibly be utilized as a engine noise page. Maybe the Webmaster could check into this.

Kybueller,
Sorry I did not mean to over look your problem. I would get a primary gasket and take a look if I thought my crank bolt was coming loose. Slow speed stop and go on the throttle would make it louder and create more chatter if it were the crank bolt. The marble sound might just be the primary chain "roaring".
