The delivery truck dropped my 12s off yesterday. I had a friend receive it (since I'm overseas still). He said it's in immaculate condition. Not a scratch on it, except, the right frame puck. He said it has 2-3 2" wide gouges taken out of it, like it was scraped on the road.

Is it possible to drop the bike and only mess up the puck? I know that any other injuries to the bike could be repaired, but if this were true wouldn't you replace the frame puck as well?

Well I'm happy to know the bike was represented somewhat appropriately by the seller and that the only thing I have to invest in is a puck.

I am going to contact the seller to see if he will replace it for me, but the deal was "as is." If this won't happen, does anyone know a place I can buy a single "right" frame puck? How do they weather? Would it be best to buy them as a set?
Final question: Are they difficult to replace? I'm sure someone on here has tips on the best procedure.

Thank you all for any insight.

-Alan

Don't worry Alan, it is very possible to damage only the puck by dropping the bike.

They are easy to replace and only cost around $40 for the pair.
removal is easy if you have a hair dryer or heat gun available.

Is there any possibility it happened in shipping? You might have a claim there.

It may have happened during shipping. I have to wait until Monday to ask the dealership if it was like that.

Being over here makes it difficult to take care of business at home. Hopefully my lady can get it done.

On another subject, my friend has never seen a Buell and almost sh*t his pants when he got it. Of course we know he took a little spin on it. I like what I hear from him about it, but I'm jealous he got to ride it first.

How good of a friend is he... maybe he dropped it, hurt the puck and now is claiming it came like that!

"As is" means "as it is described." A seller can't totally or partially misrepresent something and then hide behind the disclaimer "as is" to account for obvious things they either intentionally mistated or overlooked.

Seems to me a rashed up frame puck (if not a result of shipping) is something that should've been mentioned.

Alan, I tried out my frame pucks and screwed up the left puck and only took the paint off the right side puck. I already have a pair or replacements on the way and can send my good right side puck to you when you get home.

I painted the puck the charcoal gray to match the frame color of the 12. I'll see if I can get the paint off so that it would match the stock black plastic color.

If it is too much of a pain to take them off, I'll just send the new right puck to you. (I'll know when I change out the left side)

Thanks for your service to OUR country from a fellow Pennsylvania Bueller

Dan
