Hey Guys, It's starting to warm up even more down here, and was reading reviews on Bohn's Cool Air Bodyguard Adventure setup and it seems to be decent. Thinking about trying it out. Any input appreciated. Thx, TK |

Here's a review of the cool air pants. They make a more solid layer too for colder riding, but for me, in FL, these look good. http://www.webbikeworld.com/bohn-body-armor/ Here's where I was thinking of buying from...the combo deal is a decent price. http://www.msbohnarmor.com/catalog/proddetail.php?prod=BGLC Let me know if you get some, and I'll do the same. Later, TK |

That stuff doesn't look bad, if you don't already own a jacket and pants (or a suit) with armor already in it. Vanson also makes a similar jacket/shirt with Buell logos. |

In posting the link to the old thread I realized I'd neglected to answer Twowheeldream a.k.a. Charles' question. Must have missed his post - sorry. But here goes, only a year late The CE has certification for both armor/padding and for protective clothing. More and more manufacturers put CE approved armor in their suits, jackets and pants. That doesn't necessarily mean the entire piece of protective gear is CE tested and approved to be called "protective clothing." In Europe, in order for manufacturers to be allowed to even hint, in any way shape or form, that their clothing is protective, it *must* be officially tested and approved. However, getting clothing CE approved as "protective" requires extensive destructive testing of fabric, stitching, general construction etc. I only know of one british made suit that is actually CE approved as protective clothing ... and it's very, very expensive. It's been awhile since I looked into this, so there may be more now. So don't despair if your gear has a label like Charles': THIS GARMENT IS NOT CONSIDERED TO BE "PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT AS DEFINED IN OR WITHIN THE SCOPE OF THE PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (EC DIRECTIVE) REGULATIONS 1992 (S.L. 1992/3139) AND HAS THEREFORE NOT BEEN EXAMINED OR TESTED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THOSE REGULATIONS. NO LIABILITY WILL BE ACCEPTED BY THE MANUFACTURER OR SUPPLIER OF THIS GARMENT ARISING OUT OF THE GARMENTS NOT-COMPLIANCE WITH SUCH REGULATIONS". it doesn't necessarily mean that the gear is inferior, and the armor in the gear may very well be tested and approved even if the clothing itself is not labeled as being protective. Hope this clears things up a bit. Henrik |
