I was thinking of putting wire mesh on my airbox cover, just that little front lip under the gas cap. I know the ECM is tuned for the open airbox kit, de-snorkelized so I am hesitant to alter any air flow characteristics. Does the mesh mod actually flow enough more air to worry about being lean? Will the closed loop pick up on this if so? I want it for the looks only . . .

Jonathan, I don't think it will be an issue. In "Closed Loop" the ECM wants 14.7 and will keep it there. If you did something to lean it out more like changing to some type of aftermarket fuel filter and reducing the fuel pressure, the ECM will drive up the AFV to compensate. In "Open Loop" it is well within a safer (Rich) range of 12.5 to 14.0. I can see it as I ride in my WEGO 2 System on my "ULY." ... Hope this helps. ... Terry
