I put some Crossroads bars on my XB about a week ago.
Rode the bike to work yesterday. When I got home, as I was getting off the bike I noticed a little movement in the bars.
Upon inspection, I noticed that ALL 4 mounting bolts had loosened, and were just about 1/2 a turn from falling out!!!
I just about crapped myself. I just can't imagine how wild that ride would have been... sitting there running down the road with a set of unattached handle bars in my hands!!! "Hey... the steering input seems to be really ... OFF"

I have had visions of what could have been, dancing in my head ever since.

So... I am off to get some locktite this afternoon to remedy this situation. Hell, I may even invest in a safety wire kit just to make damn sure it won't happen again... Scary, with a capital SCARY.

Handle bars falling off-last summer at the drag races the bikes were running. Some cat on a 7 sec Kawi left the launch pad and before he could shift into 2nd, he sat unright on the bike-with the bars in his hands!!! The bike warbled for about 30 feet, he dumped it and was thrown on the high side. The launch inertia forced him back and he peeled the bars from the tree. Luckily he was wearing leathers and only slid about another 20 feet, then barrel rolled a couple times. I'd hate to be his crew chief after that.

I used the Azonics for a while, but for serious twisties I'd recommend the Crossroads. They are perfect for the track for me. I got the Zero degree. Best $ I've ever spent on a bike. I'm 6 foot even.

I am loving the Crossroads! The bike feels much more 'flickable' with them.
Now I just have to get used to them. I need to adjust how I enter corners now cause each corner I hit now, I seem to be turning in tighter.
The only problem I have, is now the clutch is a little bit more stiff.. I may have to re-route again.
