I just joined this site a couple weeks ago and in this short while, I’ve taken away a ton of useful information, met a couple members down a the Liberty Buell event, and had the good fortune to have been introduced to the guy I’m going to refer to as the #2 Man at Buell, Daves!

A couple weeks ago, I sold my ‘05 XB12Scg and was in the market for an ‘06 Firebolt. I couldn’t locate a Black one anywhere on the east coast and couldn’t get one until December which would mean I’d have to scrap the rest of the season and wait ‘til the spring. As I wasn’t quite ready to put my Buell Grin into hibernation for the winter, and after reading all the wonderful things people had written about this guy in WI called Daves, I took a shot and PM’d him. In a couple days, he’d located the bike I wanted, gave me a fair number on the deal, and went and picked it up for me. I left CT Tuesday morning, picked up the beast from Appleton on Wednesday, and was back home today. I was only able to get 80 miles on her, and even though they were break-in miles, thanks to Daves, my Grin is back!

Many thanks to BadWeb for making these connections possible and for those of you who are in need of a bike, parts, or accessories and don’t have Erik’s home number in your cell phone, I suggest you make note of Daves’....

now that's a great story! Daves is definitely the man. amazing to see how man East Coasters are heading out to WI (aka The Motherland) to snag dream machines.

i still have those great dreams from my trip to Appleton and back. goodTimes for sure.

First off, thanks again for the business!
It was great meeting you as well.
Glad you made it home ok and that the Buell grin is back.
How did the suspension feel? Did we get it dialed in right for you?

I think it's awesome . . . years ago it was only Topeka. Then along came (and went) a couple like Manchester and Modesto). Dave is setting new standards and there seem to be a host of other dealers following suite.

Two years ago I wouldn't have bought a Buell anywhere near America's largest concentration of people and $$. Today we have Liberty and Danbury both joining the ran ks of the "destination dealers".

It's going to be essential for Buell that this trend continues. Dave has proven it CAN be done and can be done ANYWHERE.

Well done!

The grin must be infectious. My face ached for three days after my first ride of a 2003 kitted xb9r from the grinning I did whilst riding it.

Hey, Dave.

So far, the suspension feels great. I’ll know for sure as soon as the break in is complete and I get a chance to push it a bit. One day, all dealers will be as concerned as you are about suspension settings and then, EVERY Bueller will be able to maximize the experience and....the Grin!

Hey Dave...too much rain on the east coast to finish it off this weekend, but I did manage to get about 130 Buell Grin miles on her, albeit some wet ones....

Check your mail for an accessory order....that gift certificate is burning a hole in my tank bag!

I just did a search on BadWeb and although many refer to “The Grin” or just “Grin”...., I think I might be the first to use Buell Grin Miles. Maybe it’s time to catalogue some of these “Buellisms” with the first being “BGM = BuellGrinMiles”.... Those that use them will be referred to as Buellologists or students of Buellology!
