Da Man was in Cleveland today....had a nice chat about how hard it has been to break thru the "anti-Buell" mentality of the moto-journalists. They (BMC) finally learned that it took a lot of education about why Different is Better, to begin to get favorable reviews. Oh yes, keep an eye out for an upcoming Bike Magazine (British rag). There will be a review to be proud of !

I hope to meet him some day. He always seem to be happy when posing for photos with and for Buell owners.

Ask anyone that has ever been in an event that he attends, he loves to talk with people. Specially about his baby's. If you didn't know who he is, he'd be just another biker in the group, but of course he's that too!

That's true and always reminds me of the time I took famed Iron Butt rider Martin Hildebrandt to the factory.

Wandered into Erik's office, sat and chatted for a bit.

When we were getting in my car to leave I asked Martin if there was anything he'd wanted to see/do that we'd missed and he said "that engineer was so upbeat, it'd been fun to meet Erik". I explained that WAS Erik.

"The guy in the t-shirt and sneakers"? "Yeah, that was him".

"Wow"

Back in 1999 I planned and led a B.R.A.G. ride with Erik through some great roads in south central Pa. We had 85 Buell riders during that year at the York Factory Open House. Erik came into town the day before and I gave him a personal tour of the York H-D Factory. During the B.R.A.G ride our lunch stop was at Lancaster Buell and I asked him to sign my event shirt. Erik wrote, “to Super Mike, thanks for the great ride” EB

It is my bike, and my name is Eric, but I dont think that is what you meant. Erik did mention that his main bike was a CityX. He also mentioned that it is getting too rare that he gets to ride just for fun anymore....
