before I order new cylinders and pistons, do I need to do more than rotate the engine down? It's down now so I can do work on the rear head and it appears I could change the jugs from at the same time without doing anymore disassembly. If this is the case I will be getting the 1050 jugs and pistons and the stage three heads.

I think if you've rotated the engine you should be good to go with removing the heads and engine itself. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

BTW, how much power could one expect from a 1050 kit or 1150 kit?

Depends on cams, EFI augmentation, exhaust tract... Check the dyno charts. Seems like I've seen some 1050cc XB9s in the low 90rwhp range. The 1170 kit which requires case boring will reportedly get you up to 110 rwhp if you know what you are doing.
