Left work yesterday and the bike (9R) was working fine. got off the freeway and when I came to a stop the engine stumbled HARD. I was actually reaching for the starter when it caught again. Then when I took off I got about 20 feet and another hard stumble. Checked battery cables and the like. Noting out of the ordinary. Everything is tight and not showing signs of rubbing.
Today on the way to my kid's school it did the same thing a few more times. Then on the way to work it seemed to be fine except it was a little sluggish off the line.
Fuel light came on as I was leaving work today so I stopped to fill it up. The problem seems to be less, but not altogether gone. No engine light and the Idle is spot on.
Any ideas?

I had the same problem at the track last week. I had to keep it over 4k so it wouldn't fall on its face.
My observations: It was 20 degrees hotter on track day than my last street ride. I did no steady state riding that people say is necessary for the ECM to adjust the map. The throttle was in constant transition.

I am wondering if it is just a question of the ECM not adjusting to new conditions during constant throttle transition riding.

That idea comes from all of the posts claiming that you need to keep it at 3200 to 3500 for some amount of time for the ECM to adjust the map.

Also, after riding at the track my first ride started rough and slowly improved.

That it got better when you filled the tank makes me think bad gas. If there was c*ap or some water in one of your fillups, it may have caused an injector to foul momentarily.

same thing happen to me,My front park plug came loose. Might want to check that

Checked Plugs and wires for tightness. 5X5. I think Geofg hit it right. Prolly got some gunky gas. Whatever was in the gas worked through, but I think it effed up my plugs. There is is a slight miss in the lower RPM range. (more than normal, but not too bad.) 8K+ miles on the bike now, so it's about time to change the plugs anyway. Got the Svc. manual on CD ROM. Now it's time to learn to change the plugs on this beast.
