I have all the stuff I need for the race kit installation on my '03 XB9S including shop manual. I'm still waiting to get my bike back from the selling dealer that's working on an electrical issue.

I plan on installing the pipe, filter, de-snorkeling when I get the bike back, then prior to replacing the ECM, riding to a local dealer to have the TPS reset done. I'm going to swap ECM's in the parking lot. I see in the shop manual it wants me to disconnect the battery prior to disconnecting the ECM.

Is this step necessary? I have no problem doing it, I'm just assuming it has something to do with resetting the system.

Thanks for the input guys/gals.

Bruce

With the S, you can't get the ECM bolts out until you remove the battery anyway.

Perfect, that's exactly what I was looking for.
Thanks!
