Are there any dyno runs with A/F graph of an xb9 with race kit or equivalent fitted with a stock ecm?

I disconnected the TFI since I'm broke (meaning no dyno time 'till after my holiday) and I couldn't get it to run properly. Drove around for a while on the stock ecm and its running pretty good (well duh). It's still popping on decel with closed throttle but I'm really concerned about running too lean in a certain area. That's why I asked for the a/f graph so I can see where its running lean to avoid running there for too long.

Without a graph, I can tell you the ECM does real well at figuring out how to handle the AF. Once you put on a pipe, the bike will start to run lean in open loop. If you're up to giving it a try,
4,1,1,8
See what that does, and let us know what happens.

Thanks Glitch, but I'm done with the TFI for the moment. I've put enough time in experimenting and although it ran pretty well, I think it ran too rich in certain areas and I can't figure out how to set the pots properly. I have therefore disconnected the TFI. It's still in place though and I have no intention of getting rid of it. Once I have money for dyno time I will reconnect it again.

For now, I would appreciate it if someone has (or knows about) a dynosheet with AF graph of a racekitted XB9 with stock ecm, I'd appreciate it.

I don't have the af graph, but I can tell you I have been running my bike with the k and n and jardine for well over a year with the stock ecm with no problems.

My X1 runs too lean from 4000 rpm up to redline with the stock ECM.

With the Race ECM it is too lean from 5500 up to redline.

But thats on an X1 not an XB

My understanding is that whatever fuel correction factor that is being applied in close-loop is also applied to open-loop mapping. However, the ECM will not try to learn a new correction value while in open-loop. Thus, open-loop is still being corrected for a rich/lean condition based on closed-loop operation.

Connected the TFI again since it was running too hot. The fan was coming while cruising 80km/h.

And I'm glad I did, it's running noticably better (smoother) and I think I'm on the right track getting rid of the occasional surge ...
