How many of you BWB have bottomed out your stock or drummer muffler? I was out last night riding on a roller coaster type road and bottomed out smacking my nice new drummer
I have the suspension setup for my weight??

Only on a speedbump. Never on a flat road.

I've done it a couple times over speed bumps while carrying a passenger. The only time I've ever had the pipe hit the ground on a level surface was setting a wheelie down hard. They make completely different marks on the pipe though. The speed bump leaves a long scrape and a slight dent from the middle of the pipe to the rear of the pipe, the wheelie leaves a deeper dent at the very front of the pipe.

I've done it, not on speed bumps either.
It's possible with enough speed and the right road conditions.
Ah weighing about 240 lbs helps too!

I am running a Full street fairing which hangs about 1 inch or so LOWER then the muffler and havent bottomed out YET and If anyone from Louisiana knows the roads here its not to good.

I have once, going down over a curb being lazy by not going to the driveway. I tightened my Drummer down with the clamps that it is skewed out of round.

I have many times. Mostly because the roads here in Lubbock suck, so if they make a speed bump, it has to be like 3 feet tall to make it any different than the road. I've done it on speed bumps with or without a passenger, and even on some driveways with a passenger.

I drive a XB9SL though, and I remember reading the clearance measurements of the regular and the low versions, and the low version had MUCH less clearance than the regular.

I scraped my stock can on every speed bump I went over so I started to avoid them if I could. I now have a D&D on my bike and can take speed bumps with no problem. Now they are even fun if you hit em going 15-20 mph.

So that's how that ding got there. I just repainted my race can and there's a dent/scuff right on the bottom front of it.

I acually have a crazy friend that does that. He pops it up and hit the bump to get a little air. How he doesn't go down I don't know. Like I said he's crazier than I am.

I hit my stock can when I went off the track a couple weeks ago. I was going about 80 to 100 mph when I crossed a small ditch. All I got was mud stuck in between the chin spoiler and the can. It is really hard to slow down in grass going that fast! LOL

I bet that was a wild ride, YEEHAA!! Sounds like you pulled through okay.

My uncle is a wheelie riding beast. That's all I ever see him do it seems like. His favorite thing is to go around long and sometimes not so long curves in the road on one wheel. Although, it's considered country where he's doing this.

I smacked mine too,long story,but anyone out there remember seeing a thread about modifying the stock muffler .I want to fix mine and thought while I had it opened up I`d tune it up as well!

Yes Kowpow. I lost my mind for just a second and forgot where I was on the track. I also had never taken the previous corner that fast before so I was going even faster for the corner that I came up on. So when I went off track I just acted like I was on ice and kept it straight up with very little rear brake. The track was Putnampark road course and there is plenty of run off in the grass. To bad there was a ditch there or I would have just gotten right back on track. Well I learned my lesson. The only other problem with the track is there are about 8 right hand turns vs 2 left handers. So the right side of the tires get worn a lot faster then the left. Good track to learn to go fast on.

I've only hit the stocker on leaving the pavement to pull off the highway, and then just barely at the front of the muffler.

On speed bumps I always hit them at an angle and look for the lowest spot. That way the transistion is more gradual.
