I picked one up because I change filters monthly with racing BUT the fins on the filter housing did not clear the line coming out of the oil pump.

I turned the fins down about 0.040 diameter and it should fit now but just haven't gotten back to putting it in.

The fact that it hit the fitting bugged me - though the quality of the parts themselves is excellent - I just haven't run it yet.

I don't know anything about the clearance issue noted above but I ran one on my Ducati for several years. It was an earlier production filter without the integral nut on the bottom. The filter works very good and in 27,000 miles has given me no grief. It's easy to disassemble for cleaning and both the stainless filter material and rare earth magnet pick up the finest bits of grunge. I'll be installing one on the Firebolt if for no other reason than to avoid having to fork out $20 CDN for an OEM filter.

I agree with Jon s. I put 12k on my FZ1 with a Scott's, never a leak and easy to clean.

By the way - I DO plan on running it! I'd just very specifically ask whoever is selling it to you that if it does not clear the oil line/fitting coming out of the pump and if you do not have access to a machine shop, make sure you can return it.

I have heard nothing but good about how they work. Gonna save me $6 a month.

I've got one on my 'Bolt. Looks trick and works as well. No clearance issues either.

i most certainly do NOT need to save $6 per month. i very much enjoy removing and disposing of a steel encased cellulose fiber media full of unburned fuel particulates, aluminum, bronze, steel, silicate, and other extraneous debris. the amount of filtration available , and disposable for 6 bucks is what i would call a bargain.
