I seem to have a small bit of lubricant seeping out of my primary cover on my new City X. It was there when I first got it home so I don't know if they spilled some there during fill up or what. What do you guys think?

I was going to take the cover off and inspect everything, but I don't have my shop manual yet and I am not sure exactly what I am getting in to. It seems basic enough but you never know.

How many miles are on it? If it seems like a small amount, I would verify the proper oil level, clean off the leakage, then ride and wait for a leak to reappear. This will tell you what exactly is happening.

I would not pull the cover, but if you have a torque wrench and the settings, double checking the torque wouldn't hurt. On the Cyclone, after a few heat cycles, I would need to retorque. Has not been the case on the 9sx though.

Wipe it down and see if it comes back, they probably just dribbled some.

Rocket my primary cover is weeping a little around the seal, it has been for about a year. Just make sure your oil level is correct and then retorque like Reep stated, if that doesn't work have the dealership replace the seals. I have the seals just haven't made time to replace, a little leak just lets you know it is authentic H-D.

Had my gasket/seal changed twice by H-D. Mine is an 03 though and H-D/Buell made a change in gaskets early 04. I'd keep an eye on it and see if you can wait until 1st scheduled service to have it looked at.

1500 miles on my 03'(bought sept 04') and I just noticed the slightest of weeping.

I'm a hi-temp RTV freak. Anybody recommend against a very thin coating on a new gasket?? Seems it might make up for any small inconsistencies in the mating surfaces.
