First....let me thank all the people of badweatherb that help me with some of the details in my buying decision regarding the XB9Ss....if everything goes like the plan...I am picking one up next weekend.

Second (and specially since i do not know anything about mechanics) I want to be sure what to ask from my dealership in what they call "prep".

From what I have learned (mostly here) I asked the dealership 4 things:
1)Check if the belt has the number the number G0500.02.AB, on the outer face, if not change it.
2)Check that wheel bearings seals are orange.
3)Check the sidestand
4)Check the wire routing

Basically, I would appreciate any comments and suggestions. I really do not have a clue about mechanics so it is even more important that I get any advice.

Tell 'em what you weigh (if they do not ask you) and have them set the suspension for you. Not overly complicated, but it is a weight sensitive bike and they should do it for you so you have the best initial riding experience.

Nothing on your list is a deal breaker - I mean, if you can get it in writing to be done on your 1000 mile check, you can ride that puppy now. You'll enjoy it so much you'll understand why I (we'd) say don't rob your self of any ride time waiting for parts.

Don't rev it or give it any gas when you start it. Doesn't need it and you risk fouling the plugs.

If the bike is "brand new" - take it VERY easy for a hundred miles or so, and especially on turns, untill your ties are scrubbed it. molding compound blues...

Oh, and grab a few lemons to suck on when you're done riding (to help wipe that big- grin off your face you'll be inflicted with).

When I got mine, the air pressure, 36 psi front, 38 psi rear was way under, oil was low, suspension not set according to my weight, no gas to speak of: just a couple of other things to check. Needless to say, that dealer is no longer a Buell Dealer.
Also make sure the tool kit is on the bike, and all the tools are in it, ( mine was missing the axle tool), and that you have the owners manual to read while waiting for the shop manual to arrive.
Best of luck, and do take it easy for the first 100 miles or so:-)
PS: The latest belt number is G0500.02ABR
