I found a used cluster I might buy as a spare.
Can you power a cluster off the bike by simply connecting 12V and ground to check that it works ok and read the mileage on it? And does anyone have the pinout for the connector? Thanks.

not sure on powering it. i would test it on the bike, if possible. however, i think a used cluster needs to be unlocked by a dealer, and they are getting fewer and fewer. not specifics, but worth researching.

Just remove the 34 pin (I think) from the IC on the bike, and plug it in to the other one. It should power up when the switch is turned on, and when running, will display the mileage accumulated on the bike it came off of.

At least that has been my experience with a 6.1 version and a 6.2.
