I traded bikes with my buddy once and saw how poor the stock rear light is. (The Uly LED rear light was great) I replaced my light with the LED version sold at American Sport Bike. http://americansportbike.com/newdir/Item/17383 So far it's great. My sister took an artsy-picture of it.
