Just got a new Saddlemen seat for my 1125R today. Went to put it on and the mounting holes are off by an entire bolt diameter and the front of the seat is snug to the air box cover.

Not looking forward to drilling out the rivets for the rear mounts and repositioning the brackets.

I see they no longer offer the seat on their website. I hope other seats they make fit properly otherwise I don't understand how they are in business.

Thanks for letting me vent.

Scarpent1,
Did you get the seat from Saddlemen directly or from American Sport Bike?

I got mine about a month after Al started selling them and it fit perfectly on both my XB (at the time) and then on my CR.

My Saddlemen fits good. Up front of the seat is snug to the air box cover and the holes line up ok. But it is a little harder to line up than the factory seat but no way I would go back to the factory seat. Only in the winter would I use the factory seat that air channel is cold.

Scarpent, I would try emailing saddlemen directly and seeing if they will fix the issue for you. I bought a seat from St. Paul harley on eBay and it was torn. Talked to the people at saddlemen and they recovered the seat for no charge.

I got the seat from St. Paul HD. Only took a day to get here (Wisconsin) and was shipped immediately.

I will have to take another look before repositioning the brackets and see if I am missing something.

Took about 6-weeks to get mine and the initial fitting was an "awwww crap, this ain't gonna work" situation! I poked and prodded a bit and finally decided to make the holes in the seat tabs slightly bigger as mine was off about a half-pin diameter. That worked but the seat is a bitch to take off until you learn where to apply pressure. Very azz-friendly seat.

I have the carbon and it is perfect.
I got it used here on badWeb.

Yes, that air channel will keep you happy on a hot day!

So, I called Saddlemen on June 12 and they told me to send an email with pics, so I did. Still no response. Their customer service needs some work. How do they stay in business?

I've been telling them forever to move the holes in the rear tabs forward by 1/8" , they won't do it without me giving them a bike for weeks. On most bikes, it'll fit but it's tight at the front and seems a little short at the back. But on an occasional bike, it just plain and simple won't go on unless the holes get moved/stretched.

Meh...I'd just stretch the two holes forward with a rat tail file or dremel and call it good. Other than that, it's a good seat. We stopped selling the Tech seat (the one with the bumps), two many issues with seams tearing. Haven't heard of similar issues with the Sport or Track/TrackCF seats.

Thanks Al. That was my original intent but I figured I would give them a chance. I guess I have my weekend project! Thanks.

Took about 6-weeks to get mine in too. Thought it was a total putz-up when the holes were so far off! I installed the quick clip mounts and was able to enlarge the holes in the seat tabs just a "smidge" and then use significant encouragement to get it mounted.

My GF is the best and got me mine for xmas from Al/American Sport Bike! One hole is a bit tight and kind of "clicks" as i move around. Hasn't bugged me enough to file it out a bit to fix, but can be annoying sometimes! I'm using the quick clip mounts as well.
