So it took me all of the afternoon and most of the evening to get the tubes for the charcoal canister run and connected. I did the linkage removal approach and now I'm paying for it. I was holding the linkage against the spring tension so I could tighten the allen bolt and it popped and stayed in position. I thought great I don't have to hold it. So I finished tightening the bolt and went to "unpop" the throttle and it wouldn't budge. It looked like the zip tie I had used was lodged between two of the rotating assemblies so I cut it and wiggled it out. Now the throttle will move, but it basically pops between two positions and the butterflies in throttle bodies do not move at all, and they are in different angles of rotation. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I got a video but it's dark.

check the vent hose on the right side of the airbox the linkage usually binds there the hose has to be pulled through the airbox a bit

Yup, that vent hose will get you every time...
It may not be your problem, but you need to check it for sure.

The airbox isn't back on, so the hose is still just free floating in the upright position. Thanks for the offers guys, I'll PM you both contact info.

It looks like something is disconnected or stripped to get that much action from the linkage and nothing from the butterflys.

disconnect the throttle cables and move it slowly from closed to open and see where it gives?

Santee is a ways away from me... encinitas

maybe a video with more light would help?

Ya, when I get home I will remove that bracket again. I was unable to get the cables loose from the bracket or the rotating pulley so just rotated the bracket out of the way when attaching the vacuum line.

When it rains it pours. When I got in my car to leave work the front right wheel was making a horrible squealing/grinding sound. Unfortunately not altogether unfamiliar, the hub has failed twice before. So I ended up having to have it towed to the dealership. It's only got 25k miles on it and this is the 3rd time. lol I'm looking at a lemon law claim potentially.

In any case, I never got around to the bike. I plan to take a look tomorrow after work, assuming nothing else collapses on me.

I wouldn't sweat the bike stuff too much. I bet it ends up being a pretty easy fix.

what kind of truck do you have?

I got it all sorted. The two rotating assemblies were over rotated and the cable bracket was holding the linkage arm between them in position so they couldn't settle back into the normal position. The arm is mounted off center on each assembly so there are two "rest" positions in the arch of rotation, it was just in the wrong resting position.
