DM - if by chance you or your lawyer need a second bike to compare vin stampings against then let me know - I'm just 30 - 40 minutes north of you. It would probably be more helpful if you found one within a few serial numbers of yours so that you can be sure it was stamped on the same day with the same dies and with same pressures, etc.
BTW - where did this guy nick you at? I sometime ride around the Milford proving grounds area and would prefer to stay away from the hornets nest after it's been stirred up - especially considering we both own 08 25R's :-) |

Crime must be none existent in your area since this dick is is so hard up on your bike. What a waste of time and resources. Keep it cool since that guy will still roam your hwy's. |

LEO: "I think you are riding a stolen bike"
ME: "Well it isn't, I have the paperwork to prove it, and are you going to charge me?"
LEO: "No, not at this time, sir"
ME: "Fine, then ••• OFF!"
I'm really interested to see how this sorts itself out (hopefully in OP's favor).

I tried to show him pictures of vin numbers on this site and others and he said that i could have uploaded them or others who have tampered with the vin numbers. Anyway I have not heard back from him since sunday. I was crusing on 23 and lee road coming back from Ann arbor after visiting my girlfriend and he was hiding in the construction zone on one of the bridges. The gm proving grounds have a few good corners around them. Anyway been riding my bike everyday even around the same area and no issues we will see, Thursday I meet the lawyer and we set up the day to fight the speeding ticket he kindly gave me while accusing me of tampering with the frame and vin number. Some of the things that were said and have happened with this whole incident I would never believe if someone told me. The whole time i was with this guy I felt guilty trying to prove myself inocient. |

Its good that u handled it professionally. He probably would of given a me a ticket for an innapropriate hand gesture if he told me that bs. |

You have no need to prove it wasn't stolen.
This is total BS, just put it in the hands of the lawyer.
If this guy wants to keep coming after you, your lawyer can handle it |

Yeah, this needs to be reported. Seriously, this cop sounds like he's cracking up (a legit case of paranoia perhaps). He needs a time out (or meds) before he goes on a rampage. |

Why take the risk of generating ire with the cop? Get away from those people as fast and as far as you can. They are not there to help you.
I'd much rather not be around when that cop pops than be on his mind having filed a legitimate complaint about his conduct that got him a reprimand. |

Call me an idealist (or a Canadian), but people should not be afraid of their governments or police forces.
Hold the cop accountable for his actions. We all need to stand up to this crap or before you know it they'll come knocking on your door asking for your stolen guns, too. |

dmfb88.. you have done more than most.if you were not cited, detained or given a summons you don't have to do a damn thing. for some reason this cop is yanking your chain. You do have the right to remain silent. it HIS job to have a suspicion of guilt. I woud blow it off. If further contacted by this alledged LEO tell him to cite you or any further harrasment will lead to a complaint with his supervisors thru your lawyer..don't lose anymore sleep and DO NOT talk to this clown again without a lawyer present. if ever contacted again ask for his supervisor to be there and tell him your lawyer will also attend |
