http://tinyurl.com/7a6hlel This thread got me started on what I wanted, so I won't repeat all the details. I got the 5k bulbs

One change I made was to mount the ballasts on the bottom of the lights, which I saw in another thread. The nice thing about mounting on the light assemblies is that they are shock mounted.

I found what appears to be the identical HID kit that Starrotors now sells for $50 for only $35 on Ebay. http://tinyurl.com/7hondwc

Note - no rubber disk on the lamp leads

I did order the marker lights from Starrotors, and had to take them to the grinder to trim the diameter a little to fit.

Overall, super simple install. The units don't have the large blocks on the cables that they did on the thread above, so even easier to install.

Did have to take a micro screwdriver and disassemble the stock connect to the bulb to get it out of the factory boot.

The kit includes a connector that isn't assembled, but that isn't the cable that runs through the boot. The one that does fits, but you need to take a pair of needlenose and stretch the hole enough to run each connector through, 1 at a time. Not too hard.

I ran the lead from the ballast through the boot, connected, and stuffed the connectors into the housing, put on the boot. All fit well.

Used the provided double sided tape to affix to the bottom of the headlights, reassemble and enjoy!

Quick spin down the street, god the highbeams are so YELLOW in comparison! They look good so far.

Same ones I have on my truck. Was thinking of getting some for the bike too. Just be careful I had to actually glue the boxes on my truck the double sided tape didn't hold that well

I thought of that, but the bottom of the fairing is fairly snug against them, and they are zip tied to the cable harness pretty well

I don't think they will go anywhere.

If there do seem to have an issue, I'll consider doing what they did in the thread I mentioned, and run some screws into the light housing with silicone to seal the holes

See the mounting tabs on the ballast bodies?
