Shop Manual says to replace the fasteners on the drive sprocket and the brake rotors when they are removed.

I have fasteners which have come loose and need to be tightened to spec. Do I need to replace them or can I just torque them back up to the required tightness?

According to the manual, lock tight is not required.
What do you do?

This otta be good...!

While I've never had a fastener come loose (1125CR & XB12S), I do reuse and torque fasteners mentioned, as required. Though I have used just a "touch" of blue Loctite.

I'm in the business of knowing how materials work. I test things all the time. While admittedly I do not know the exact material that's used for the pulley and the rotor fasteners, I find it very odd that the strength it takes for these items in their particular use, and materials used today...are "one time" use only.

And so far...between these two bikes and the 12R I used to have...no fastener has broken OR stretched to the point of being noticable/measurable/unusable.

Clean the threads, chase the wheel's threads (GENTLY!) with a clean tap, and if the fastener shows no damage re-install it with loctite Red.
