I have been having starting/charging issues once the bike get hot. I started looking at the bike in detail. Just below the left pod, there's some type of wiring harness where some wires are resting on an engine bolt. Yep rub through..sorry no pics the bike is in the shop. You Might as well take a look below your left pod just for shits and giggles!

I looked and I could see that the bend before the plug could lean up against a side case bolt (11 O clock ? position). Mine was suspended 1/2" away.

THX for the post, better safe than sorry.
