alright then. so i take the exhaust off to wrap the headers which including disconnecting the battery have other things to do so could't get it done al in one shot battery stayed off for approx 48hrs.

get the exhaust done button everything back up key on odo is reading zero im thinking it just popped into one of the trip meters so i scroll through and nope the main odo both trips and the service odo are all reset to zero or 62xx for service odo.

clutch goes out again so i call Adamec's yup they have a kit on hand. when i take it in tell them about odo. they do the clutch i call yup clutch is done but waiting on return call from harley tech about the odo.

go pick it up today and they are waiting for final word from harley seems that with the shut down the group that would ordinarily prog the new cluster and ecm as a set is no longer working so evn though they can get the parts they don't think they can get them set to somewhere near the correct mileage.

any one else in this boat with me? anyone know of a way to fix this problem?

Odometer reading is also stored in the ECM, it should sync up again. If you replace the cluster, it downloads it from the ECM.

from what they told me the ecm and cluster are both showing the same thign 184 miles which is the amount since the reset. thus they were talking about the factory program to set the mileage close to what it really is which is 184+128x=nearly 1500 low mileage i know but i haven't been in country that much since i bought it last jan.

anyone else have any ideas? the mileage can't be touched with the software that's available to us can it?

also what else can or is likely to go wrong with the ecm cluster now that this has happened?

supposedly the mileage is in the ecm; however, after my bike received an updated cluster it never retrieved my old mileage. hit or miss maybe...

My odometer reset after replacing a fuse last weekend. I finally removed the fuse again and reinstalled it and the odometer went back to normal. It was the fuse under the seat for the key switch.

Either pull the fuse that Mike mentioned or disconnect the cluster and reconnect it, but don't disconnect the battery.

Did you take it to the Orange park location? Just want to know if my clutch starts leaking.

Yep, Jon Dunn, service manager I believe, reflashed my cr with the newest flash, while other dealers didn't want to bother to look for it. I'll be taking it there from now on.

Mine didnt log the 78 miles I rode either when the odometer reset. I figured being off by 78 miles is better than being off by 900 miles.
