One of the guys here on BadWeb has been testing this for us and is still doing so for a while. He is very busy with his own job so be patient. Nothing to report right now but many new things are coming down the line for tuning our ECM. Look in the archives for "Magnum performance tuning chip" for reference. A couple of good ones available already. Again check the archives for reference. Bob

What I had meant...

Military parachutists with non steerable parachutes can and will collide in mid air at times which can prove to be fatal if you collapse one or both chutes and are to close to the ground. Whilst in mid air, we use the term "SLIP AWAY!" which is shouted to one another so that each paratrooper pulls a slip on their risers and dumps air from the canopy to "slip" passed one another to avoid collision.

How that pertains to the product in question. And this is more opinion that fact based. I for one, wouldn't mess with it. I have toyed with tuning cars for many years and use EFI Live quite a bit as well for my Turbo SS Silverado. Back in the old days with Grand Nationals, ADS, or "Super Chips" released a whole slew of "bang for the buck" chips on the market that were certainly not very good products and caused many problems as the chips were all cookie cutter tunes. From my experience I am swinging the caution flag from this aspect. The "device" may very well work, but I wouldn't rush out and pop one on until a few of them have been tested with good results and feedback from others who are willing to put it to use.

Regardless of how much precise engineering is in the motor and ECM, inherent flaws and atmospheric differences/changes can result in major issues with tuning on two vehicles or bikes that are in the same location and are identical. Which is why professional tunes are done with the customers bike, a dyno or track test. Which is why I heed caution on this. After reading through the info on it. It may very be a good device that can increase power. But I know from experience that the best way to safely and reliably tune a vehicle of any kind is to have the tuner on site. I tried a few mail in ECM tunes in the past and didn't get the results I'd expected.

As for this device, it looks as if all it is essentially doing is modifying the data collected by the ECM from the IAT, o2, etc. It might work great, but I don't know what baselines they have flashed on the eprom inside the device, so some people are going to have to be willing to test it.

Bottom line, unless you know what you are doing, or have the time to learn and experiment with it. Hold what you got until others can validate it's performance claims.

Not trying to be a scare crow here, just offering my opinion on it. It kinda reminds me of the tornado. Which makes me chuckle.

Geforce, totally understand where you're coming from, "Bottom line, unless you know what you are doing, or have the time to learn and experiment with it. Hold what you got until others can validate it's performance claims"

Exactly what one of our guys here on BadWeb is doing as we write this. Just waiting for his very knowledgeable assessment. Seems like the best so far is what another guy (Xb9) is doing with good success, a reprogramming of the stock ECM in any area of the program a person desires using ECM Spy software. Check out his posts. Good stuff. Also the Jardine programmer looks very promising, and thanks for your great input. Always good to be somewhat skeptical, I am always and like you are patiently waiting for more results from all concerned. Bob

One thing I've learned: If something sounds too good to be true, it often is.

Right on brother, I read that someone is testing it, that is great! I would just hate to see some of the younger riders pick one up and frag the motor. Let us know how it tunrs out!
