Blastard, Progressive's the best bet in this part of the country. I pay $550 for a 97M2 with 4k extra for goodies and a 02 wing. I use to be with Dairyland, Their also pretty competitive.
Good Luck, Hillbilly

how cool is this!!?? not more than about two minutes ago (here on the West Coast) i saw several shots of our very own Court Canfield on SPEED Channel's "Two Wheel Tuesday", during their piece on Ducati's bitchin' new GT 1000, Sport 1000, and PaulSmart 1000, unveiled to the American public for the first time at the New York Cycle World International Motorcycle Show.

very cool! :)

Blastard,

In Virginia, State Farm Ins. only charges by the cc's, they don't seem to care about the type of bike (for now).

I hope this helps.

Bob,
As of right now, absolutely!
I'm trying to come up with the $$ necessary to get the M2 in the 150 club.

At the least, I will do a bit to the M2 to make it a bit easier for my daughter (or son if he has Navy leave available) to hit 130.
A set of cams, my 42 Mikuni and the 29 tooth should do the job.

I'm hunting for an open record that won't cost to much for the necessary hardware.
Maybe my daughter can do that one also!
I'm thinking small bore low speed records....

You and Deb are going right?
Also trying to figure out a way to do the Splash event.
So many events, so little time.....

Brad

Carefull Brad, if you make it to Splash you may decide to stay out west there. And with your skillset a career would be fairly easy to come by most likely.

Ebear the Amazon's name was Kanani.

This begs the question, What's the Macaw's name? As the proud owner of a 12 year old double yellow head Amazon I had to pipe up.

Re: John R. Weaver, Jr. vs Buell/Nov 2003 posts
Recall for throttle cable clamp
Hello,
I am John Weaver's widow.
I would like to clear up a few things about the reason this case was brought to trial. The newspaper articles did get some facts wrong;(the way it happened to him and how far the distance was, for instance.) All my sons and I wanted was a recall. If Buell had come to us then and said, "we are going to find out what happened on your husband's bike and make sure it never happens to anyone else", and then done it....there would not have had to be a court case. I am sure some of you don't believe that, but it was not about money, ever. In all fairness, I am sure Buell did not believe our motives, either. John was a machinist and mechanic. He was an experienced rider. The jury never got to hear about the recall. The jury also didn't get to hear about the other cases that were settled out of court regarding this same problem. Did they offer me a settlement? yes. Did I take it? obviously not. If I took the settlement then the problem with the throttle cable would not become public knowledge. The recall happened because my attorneys contacted NHSTA. NHSTA looked at what they had and launched the investigation. It became a "voluntary" recall when I would not accept Buell's settlement offer. If Buell had done the right thing back then, they would have saved themselves the cost of an attorney. As it is, my sons and I went through 4 years of hell trying to get it done. Well, we did it. We may have lost the case, but we got the recall and our conscience's are clear. John and I always tried to teach our sons that when you make a mistake, you take responsibility for it and do what you can to make it better. John was an incredible husband and father and we miss him every dadgum day and night. We can't have him back and so we did what we could to make sure others did not go through what we have. I appreciate you letting me have my say. That's all.

Re:shipping from New Jersey to Oregon, thanks for all the offers. Dealer's $2400 estimate became about $650 from Allied. Funny that Federal, their subsidiary bid higher even though they give a BRAG discount.

Otbcs: You and your boys are in our thoughts. There is nothing I, or anyone can say that can help ease the pain ya'll must feel. Four yeears is a long time, especialy for children. At the very least, this part is over, and you know you did as best you could. With this finally behind you, you have your future with with your children to look forward to. I for one wish you the best.

Related to previous message: I scanned my heated vest on a CT scanner, zipped up around two pillows. ~500 very thin axial slices were generated (see Axials ), then reconstructed into a 3D view ( see 3Dview.This allowed me to rotate around and through the view, practice surgery on it, etc...

Otbcs - Thank you for your selfless dedication to principle. It's quite rare these days, and it should not go without recognition. You've given your children a priceless object lesson, and left a legacy of your lost husband in the process. You've done well.

Otbcs:

I know it has to be difficult after the death of your Husband. We can all tell the strength of your convictions. Your children are truely fortunate to have a Mother like yourself. This board has always been compassionate and understanding, especially to our kindred spirits. Our best wishes to you and your children.

Life is to be lived and experienced, it is not a spectator sport.

Sincerely
Neil S.

Otbcs, i've tried to think of something profound to say since your post yesterday, but to no avail. John sounds like he was a good man, and i'm saddened anew by your loss.

please know that we're thinking of you and your family, and may your husband ride in peace.

Blake,
I believe you have two options:
1. One great big single track file sort of like an obituary listing in the newspaper with a strong request to not add any additional commentary or discussion. A separate thread could track along for further discussions and such along the lines of the Arizona event recently or the discussions about the Florida one above.

2. A separate thread for each individual with open discussion for people to offer comments or thoughts or memories or discussion as each individual sees fit (with good discretion) to offer. The title of each thread could read like a memorial with the individual's name and a relative date of either the day of the incident or the birth and death dates, or with no date. I'm kind of partial to the no date aspect due to wanting to extend my "dash" as long as possible or feasible.

Just some thoughts that come to mind. And maybe put it in it's own section apart from both the quick board and knowledge vault.
