Aaron:

That's funny....guy may have been dangerously close to a surprise serving of "Cajun Whoopass". Brain may be outta LA, I doubt LA is outta Brian!

>>>she hadn't even noticed you were gone.
Blake has that effect on women.

No, that's his "Action" 50, a 2-stroke. This Honda 50 he took over there is even smaller if you can imagine.

Snail, here is what you need to bypass the limiter on your Gixxer: http://www.gsxrzone.com/tre.html. They also have whatever other speed parts necessary to make your GSXR or Busa really haul ass.

The Dane is back in town ... for a short while. VIR was *great*. I'm finally starting to relax in right hand turns (a couple of crashes scared me a bit) and was having a blast.

I'll be back on the road come Monday morning though and be gone for a week'n a half. NC riding is fantastic - going back with some Danish friends this time.

Just need to figure out riding gear for said friends and how to handle a cracking race header before we leave :)

Being brought up in the Australian outback put a lot of emphasis on being self reliant

Peter - get over it. if you couldn't count on your friends for a hand, what's it all worth. Count me in on the "Peter to the Salt" fund. And don't get stubborn about it either - I'm sure Grizzly can "convince" you - the hard way if necessary ;)

Connections? you bet we have connections.

No, I think it's an XR50 ...

The motor looks like a Z50 but Brian says it's different. He punched it out to an 80 and souped it up, it goes like stink.

I had one of those Z50 Mini-trails when I was 10, I remember it well. Fold down handlebars. I souped it up. Got a special manifold and put a carb on it from a 90. Woo-hoo did that baby run!

I think the arm twisting needs to start NOW!!!!!Henrik, let me know if you need race pipe.

Choptop,I thought that the first Honda Trails (55 and 90) were pushrod.I had one of the real early 90's and it looked totally different than the later ohc ones.I can always check with my younger brother--he's an old Honda trivia freak.Has about 10 SL's and Trail 50's,among others.}

Huh...

My SV is already race prepped...I'd probably have to change from slicks to tires with a little tread...

Maybe one of these days I'll stop talking about it and actually head out to the salt. I have to weigh what I'd like to do more as that would surely kill one of my road race weekends...

Just do it, Vik, just once at least for the experience. The place is rich with history and tradition. And it's like no other place on earth, you feel like you landed on another planet with the only signs of life being the other racers around you. September 18-22. It ain't that far.

Don't kid yourself, those fiftys got some suds. I bought one for my grandson when he was six, the first day home I was sort of giving him the familiarizing trip, he kicked it in gear and pinned it. Dragged me down the driveway about hundred feet while I was stabbing at the kill switch.

He's had a lot of fun on that little bike, now its time for a 70.

'Cmon Vik, it'll be fun. Bonneville!

if you're online (reading this now) and get the Travel Channel, there should be a segment about Buell on 'Incredible Road Machines' shortly.

Peter - you tell me you'll be going and I'll keep Grizzly out of it :) Great picture BTW - the silencer is even the right color.

Here's a couple of shots from my VIR days

the bowl 1

the bowl 2

the bowl 3

the fish hook

I'm obviously not quite as relaxed in right hand turns as in left handers.

Good fun

Jim, you've got mail.

some ati screen scapes from the Travel Channel show last night

 1 __ 2

 3

only thing that raised a brow was when the commentator called

the XB9R 'the most technically advanced bike in the world'

 4 __ 5

granted, most footage looked like it was from 2002

bikeweek and not the marketing type shots here.

Has anyone else noticed the news item on the Roadracing World site about a new section of track at Road America. Seems no one has ridden it yet, but it has been inspected by Paul James, HD/Buell Communications Manager for an upcomming press intro. And as not many HD's are introduced at a track one can only assume........

Snail, nice pic of your GSXR Front end. Was it you or someone else on SacBorg who did not realize that it had radial brakes and the diamond coated forks?
