Previous owner had mounted a base plate on the rack for a top case. Four holes drilled through. Doesn't affect function. This rack is NOT compatible with stock side cases, hence the sale. I retract my statement.... It can be used with stock cases ....but I'm currently not interested as I am trying to raise funds for a 2010 wheel purchase....
