The bike comes with the passenger pegs (not shown here because I use this bike strictly as a solo steed), the small Buell tail bag, a spare belt (used), and I most likely have some other pieces or parts.

I didn't abuse the bike, I've never red-lined it, but it handles, and that's what I used it for. Also, I've never been into wheelies or burnouts. The bike is very capable of either, but it's never happened since I've owned it... Just not my style I suppose.
Tires are about gone. I've always run sport touring tires on it, and have never had an issue with traction. My current set are Pirelli Diablo Stradas (now discontinued) with 9000 miles on them. Rear is into the wear bars, front isn't yet but it's close enough to need changed too.

With my regular riding (75/25 city/highway) I get exactly 50 mpg every time. On backroad easy rides, it'll be closer to 55. Fuel light comes on at 125 miles, and it will take exactly 2.5 gallons. It has a gallon in reserve, so it should hit about 175 miles before empty.

I've had no problems with comfort. I've done a handful of 500 mile days on it, both 'sport touring' and just playing around in southern Ohio. Comfort is always YMMV though.

I own it outright. Clear title. No battle wounds, should be no surprises. I always use Amsoil 20w50 Synthetic Motorcycle oil in the summer, and generic 10w40 synthetic in the winter (As I usually only put 1k miles on the winter oil, I can't justify Amsoil).





KBB retails it at $3970, but we all know the market is... questionable. The asking price for comparable one's I'm finding is about $3800.

I'm more than willing to sell it outright, but I figured in this season, a trade would be more likely to happen. I want $3500 for it.



As far as what I want out of a trade... My ideal bike is a 2009 WR250R. That being said, similar bikes will work just fine also (KLX250, DRZ etc.)

Something that I can rack up the mileage on (no street legal dirt bikes that only hold half a quart of oil, and need an oil change ever twelve hours). I want this bike to ride trails and dirt roads all around Ohio and WV, and eventually pull bigger jobs like the TAT, Trans-Lab, and Baja. I'm fairly convinced a 250cc is what I'm looking for, but you could convince me of a bigger bike fairly easily. Not interested in a 650 class bike unless it's modified specifically to be a smaller, lighter weight trail bike. Electric Start is a must.

Modifications are fine but not required; things like a bigger gas tank, better/lower seat, luggage racks are big plusses.

Is it street legal? How frequent are the service intervals?

The WR is plated in VT and has a VT title. Bike has a Baja kit with a new reworked stator, small blinkers, over size 3.3 gal tank, ProBends, Trail Tec Vapor, Yamaha skid plate, rear rack, new starter, all upgrades on starter assembly, alloy kickstand, shop manual, extra parts, can not remember what I have. Oh new Shorie battery.
Oil changed every 10 hours. Takes just over a quart of oil and a small filter, not a big deal to change or pay for.
I am 61 years old and it is time for me to stop ridding the single track here in Vt.

Not going to work for me, sorry. I like the power of the 450, but need the service intervals of the 250's (3000 mile oil changes, 20,000 mile valve adj.) Unfortunately I'm more willing to lose the power. I tend to put in long days and rack up the mileage. I'd be doing an oil change a week.

Not sure what you are looking for as a WR250 and a KLX250 (DR's) are day and night different. I have ridden all 3. The The KLX and DR are way heavy and underpowered for almost anyone that is able to ride. They lack clearance.They are ok on fireroads and dirt roads but will really hold you back on the single track. I have also ridden a KLR650 as far into the woods as the KLX and would much rather ride the KLR as it at least had enough power to get me there, way to heavy though. The WR250 was a little under powered too and is why I went to the 450, it never quits no matter what I hand it. There is never a doubt that the bike will make it!
