It's not sexy, but you should be able to use a bolt. I've been there/done that...and if you want it to look "better", get a sleeve spacer to cover the threads of the bolt.

That's exactly what I did! Was close to Menards when it happened so i went and picked up a 1/4 carriage bolt and some nuts! Although Nuts did want to back off! Guess I need a Lock Nut with the plastic Inside! Good Idea about the spacer, Never thought about that!

black allen bolt, black breather line of appropriate size to cover bolt, nylock nut.

I found a brass screw of the correct size etc at ace hardware in the bath section, a bit long.
I have a standard bolt in for our trip but if it goes down in the lot again it may take the whole lever.
