I have a Euro Effects HID kit with a H3 bulb in working condition. Was going to use on a 08 xb, but not enough room behind bug shield. Part # 35w8000kh3w. $50 plus shipping. PM me

Any idea if there is enough room on the Firebolt for this particular kit?

8000K is pretty white light, correct? Does this come with instructions and is it completely plug-n-play?

6000k is the whitest of them all, 8000k has some purple IIRC

Brinnutz is correct the higher the K the more blue tint. I do not have the instructions, It is just plug and play. A positive and a negative wire.

For reference, 4300K is what the HID kits on luxury cars are. The above picture looks good, it shows how 10K is the cutoff from when blue starts to turn purple. Below 4300K it turns yellow.

Yes, thats if you don't use a relay or anything. The setup he has here draws power off the bikes wiring harness the exact same way as the stock bulbs. Relayed setups just use the stock harness to know when to turn the lights on, and draw power directly from the battery.

If you take paypal, consider it sold.

BTW...what is the benefit of a relay and where would I go about getting one?

marko...
The benefit of a relay is so you can run a heavy duty wire to the HID kit, the relay works as a switch for the hd wire to run off your original wiring. Then you turn the key or the brights on it engages the switch to the on/off position and ignites your HID, Heavy duty horn, external lights, or what ever you have hooked up, and does not risk your stock electrical system.

You can pick relays up at Radio shack and I believe about any auto parts store.

If anyone sees any errors feel free to set me straight so marko gets the correct information.

Thanks greenman. I might have to look into that. I know the HID draws more power than a stock set up...but is it significant enough to need a relay? Or is the relay more of a convenience?

If I remember correctly I have seen and heard of some wiring harnesses being melted down by not upgrading the wiring to their HID and using a relay. Just a couple thoughts for ya

I also would just run it off a relay. Then your just using the factory harness for a on off switch.

Spyder5276, thanks for posting that link, I've had my hid kit wired to the stock harness for some time but didn't exactly know how to wire it correctly. Thanks so much, good luck with the sell!

Thanks. I found it one day, I wanted to have both my HIGH and LOW beams on at the same time on my GMC Yukon. I also did it to my bike.
