Kim:

Sorry to hear you got caught in this dealer scam. I would contact Buell Customer Service and let them know about the dealer's unethical actions. The folks on Juneau Ave might take an active interest in a dealer that sells parts that were covered in an NTSB recall.

After reading the recall bulletin, there is clear wording about not selling these items as well as how dealers with these recalled bars can submit claims for replacement of recalled bars. I would not be surprised to find that this dealer is attempting to "double dip" - and after receiving replacements has then attempted to foist these dangerous items off on unsuspecting Buellers.

The NTSB might be interested in this as well.

Sign me up for the "legal action" list. I have always been of the opinion that this particular dealership was not particularly "Buell friendly" and now that they are "Buell Fraudulent" . . .

Don

Court & Don:

I got them early this summer. They had bunch of tube frame stuff at blow out prices. X-1 seat for $15, M2L seat for $40. Banke oil caps for the plastic oil tank for $5. I would not have dreamed that recall stuff would still be in the pipeline.

Kim,
Any chance they still have that Banke stuff? I know a bunch of us would be interested in those... At least I would.

Alex,
They had two of the oil caps, one is on my M2. Send me your address and the second one will be on its way to you today.

Help,
I just bought a works shock on e-bay and I desperately need the old(long) style shock mount. I do not need the alternator mounting stuff as this is going on an S1. I just need the shock mount. Anybody have one laying around? Or does anybody want to trade for the new mount?

Dan:

I have two of the shock brackets. I can have one of them on the way to you in tomorrow's USPS if you email me back with an address to send it to.

Just in case, I did a parts catalog comparison and it says your S1W and my S3 used the same WP bracket.

Kim,
Do you have a picture of those bars?
My parts book says tall bars for a ‘95 ’96 S2-T are 54932-94Y & 54931-94Y.
What is a 555899-94Y? There isn’t a number that begins with 555 in the book.

Sorry. I neglected to follow the download links.

I am also at fault for lacking sufficient web skill to provide these critical files for convenient downloading. I do, however, have the pdf files on my system and can provide them to anyone that would like pdf copies via email.

I'm looking for a 2001 M2 gas tank, any color, although reactor yellow would be awesome.

Thanks Tufty.

Does anyone know if there is are service and/or parts manuals available for the '91 RS, RSS models? I've got a '91 RS that, strangely enough, needs occasional maintenance and repair! My local dealer is really good with Buells, but I do my own work and their parts guys go kinda comatose after my "'91" response to "what year?"
