I live in Central Indiana, and am looking to buy a buell in decent shape. Cosmetics aren't all that big of a deal to me, reliability is everything. I am looking to spend no more than $4,000. i am basically interested in any buell but the blast.

Thanks

I'd say go for a late model M2 (2001 or 2002) or you may find a 9 XB, R or S for 4k and under. Those are going to be your most reliable Buell for that amount of money. Otherwise, you may have to do a little wrenchen.

Thanks for the advice. Yeah, that is what I was thinking. I would really like an xb9. What is the lowest you've seen them go for?

You're pretty close to the bottom amount that I've seen them sell for, if not past the bottom. It would be a lot easier to find an XB if you were willing to spend $4500 which in my eyes is worth it over going with a tuber!!! I love the look of the S1s and M2s and all the tubers for that matter, so don't take me wrong, but the jump in tech between tubers and XBs is HUGE! I'm likely telling you nothing you have not heard already…but, I'll put it this way, a good friend of mine races an S1 and he has done every thing to stiffen up the frame and a stock XB still has greater frame rigidity.

I'm with V8killr here. Up your minimum to 4500. The XB is worth it IMHO. I own both.

We bought a "totaled" '03 XB9R in early '05 for $3200. But a new clutch in it, replaced the triple trees, and added some frame pucks to it to cover up the dents in the frame. The parts ran us about $300 off ebay, and from Hals. The bike was as good as new after we were done.

I just missed my chance at one. I got outbid on ebay. An 03 xb9s just went for $4300 , my bid was $4250. Well, surely another one will come around.

I'm no longer looking for one. I bought reducati's XB12R for $3500. VERY NICE bike.
