Anyone got a spare heat shield for a '97-'98 S-1. Slim chance I know but been looking over here for the past 4 years with no joy.

Gary...

No luck. I do have an engine heat shield but not the exhaust header shield.

Sorry & good luck.

No worries, thanks for checking Dennis. Anyone else got a spare in the garage maybe?

Gary,

Which style are you looking for? The thick extra insulating one (insulating layer in between two layers of steel), or the one that is just the single layer of formed steel? I came across one of each style in my garage today. The insulating style looks nearly new but may need a couple spots painted to touch it up, while the single layer part was sandblasted many years ago and never painted or coated (but has been sitting in a plastic bag somewhat preserved) - it could use a fresh sandblasting before painting or powdercoating of choice.

Let me know,

Think the original was single skin but it's been so long since I had one I've forgotten. Single skin would probably do especially If I could polish it up. Rest of the bike is tidy so don't really want to put a thick black heat shield on the pipe but at the moment I'd be grateful for anything that would stop my leg from burning.

He's a pic of the bike http://bike-pix.com/albums/album43/aab.jpg

Sent PM to you. Respond through E-mail and I will send pics. BTW, that is one SWEET S1! Definitely the CLASSIC S1!

Nice looking S1 Gary. Some tasteful mods you got going on. You really should try the Pro Series billet foot pegs or similar. They make a huge difference to the feel (handling) of the bike.

Hey Sean, good to see you are still alive and the bike is looking as good as ever. What wheels are they?

Next on the shopping list for me is probably an X-1 swingarm and then might try the billet pegs. The race pegs are a massive improvement on the OE crap (not a big surprise) but are wearing a bit thin so will be needing something for next year.

Brankin, will PM my details over. Cheers guys.

Surprised to see my id. still works as I haven't been on here for 3 years!

Gary, they're the 'old' style carbon fiber Dymags. Keep your eyes peeled for future improvements to my S1W.

Thanks for the heads up mate.
